Ghorepani lies on a major trail linking several other villages as well as the Annapurna Base Camp. From the South-East direction, it can normally be reached by foot from the village of Birethanti in about 10 hours depending on the trekker. However, many trekkers prefer to overnight at one of the lower villages on their way to Ghorepani, covering the distance over two days owing to the steepness of the trail, the increase in altitude and the beauty of the natural surroundings. From the North-West direction, Ghorepani can be reached in about 8 – 10 hours starting from Tatopani. This trail passes through the villages of Shikha, Dana and Chitre. It also contains a Primary school and Basketball Court. It also have access to internet facilities. It is one of the beautiful places in Nepal lying in the base of Poon Hill. It contains about 50 lodges. It also have a police station and a health post.
The Ghorepani / Poon Hill trek, in the Pokhara region, leads trekkers to the famous viewpoint of Poon Hill. The usual route follows a loop via Ghandruk on the way out.Ghorepani trek is the most popular trek in Nepal due to the facilities that are available in this area.
Day 01: Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu and a representative of Gokyo Ri Trek will welcome and transfer you to your selected hotel by private vehicle.
Day 02: Kathmandu to Pokhara by tourist bus (6-7 hrs) (202 km) or by flight (45 mins). Transfer to hotel in Pokhara.
Day 03: Pokhara to Nayapul by private vehicle an hour and 20 minutes drive (45kms). Then Trek to Tikhedhunga (1510m) (5 hrs). Stay overnight at lodge.
Day 04: Trek to Ghorepani (2750m) walking (7 hrs). Stay overnight at lodge.
Day 05: Early morning start to ascend Poon Hill (3210m) and it will take an hour to ascend and you will take in the amazing views of Dhaulagiri (8167 m), Annapurna I (8091), Annapurna South (7219 m), Machhapuchhre (fish tail) (6993m), Hiunchuli (6441 m) Nilgiri (6670m) along with many more mountains and green dense forests. Walk back to the lodge to have breakfast and prepare our rucksacks to trek to Tadapani (2720m) (6 hrs). Stay overnight at lodge.
Day 06: Trek to Jhinu Danda (1740m) walking (6 hrs). There are natural hot springs about 20 minutes away to relax in. Stay overnight at lodge.
Day 07: Trek to Pothana (1970m) walking (7 hrs). Stay overnight at lodge.
Day 08: Wake early morning and view the last mountain and panoramic views and then trek to Dhampus Phedi (920m) walking (4 hrs) drive back to Pokhara by private vehicle and stay in a Pokhara hotel.
Day 09: Pokhara to Kathmandu by bus (6-7 hrs) (202 km) by flight (45 minutes).
Day 10: Depart from Kathmandu by a representative of Gokyo Ri Trek.
